SENIOR YEAR TIMELINE

Summer between Junior and Senior Year

  • Continue to narrow down list of college choices

  • Plan any additional campus visits

  • Create a resume

  • Draft your scholarship essay

  • Volunteer (if you haven't started already)

Fall of Senior Year

  • Finalize list of schools to which you want to apply

  • Ask for personal recommendations early for scholarship and only if necessary for college applications

  • Retake ACT test if necessary (September and October dates recommended for Seniors)

  • Plan any final campus visits

  • Apply to colleges of choice and observe all deadlines

    • August - November 1st

    • Application (online preferred)

    • Send ACT/ACCUPLACER scores if necessary

    • Request transcript to be sent through Parchment

    • Pay application fee

    • Be on the lookout for all scholarship possibilities

October- January of Senior Year

  • Attend financial aid workshops

  • Apply for financial aid (must be accepted at schools before financial aid can be received)

  • Call institutional financial aid offices for additional help

  • Continue to apply for all appropriate scholarships

November - May of Senior Year

  • Make final choices for college attendance

  • Compare financial aid packages

  • Apply for local scholarships
