💙Happy Homecoming from 5K💙

Mrs. Kitchner's 4K classes learned all about apples this week! They tasted different apple varieties and voted on which one they liked best, learned a new apple finger play, made apple headbands, patterned apples on the calendar, and read many stories about apples! It's been a FUN week in 4K! 🐝🍎🍏🐝

It's beginning to look like fall at Mondovi Elementary School! There are still plenty of peppers as well as a few tomatoes and carrots in the farmstand.

Miss. King‘s class had fun flashlight reading on Friday. They got to choose a partner or choose to read by themselves. This was a hit and a request to do it every Friday!

There are a few additions to the elementary garden. The 24/25 4th grade class donated a picnic table, and we had another donation of a second table. We also have a little library added next to the farmstand for students and families! A local girlscout troop kindly painted the little library, and it looks great! Stop by for some books and fresh vegetables!

Fresh produce added to the Mondovi Elementary Farm Stand!

4K classes enjoyed a beautiful day learning and visiting with our awesome local emergency workers on Thursday! A huge thank you to Officer Laehn for helping to organize this wonderful event. Additionally, thank you to the Buffalo County Sheriff's Office, Mondovi Fire Department, Mondovi Police Department, and Mondovi Area Ambulance Service for teaching our youngest buffaloes about your super cool jobs and letting them experience what it's like to be a police officer, EMT, and firefighter! It was a great day!

On Friday, May 16th, 4K teachers and families met at Carson Park for a fun morning of visiting and playing together! Thank you to all the families that were able to join us - it was a wonderful day!

First Grade made homemade butter. We taste tested with Mrs. Julson's homemade bread. Yummy!

Yesterday, our 2nd graders had a fantastic time learning all about electricity! A huge thank you to RiverLand Energy Cooperative for visiting and sharing your knowledge with us.

First Grade had a beautiful day for our trip to Pepin, where we learned more about Laura Ingalls Wilder. Thank you to our amazing PTA for sponsoring our admission to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum and ice cream at Nelson Creamery.

2nd Grade recently attended a Young People's Concert hosted by the MN Orchestra. The program was titled Musical Wonders of the World. It explored the connection between music and nature and featured music was inspired by the many unique ecosystems and topographies around the world.

We have been focusing on a new character trait each month in the elementary. In February we focused on KINDNESS and in March our trait was TRUSTWORTHY. We had an assembly to recognize one student in each grade level and one staff member that best modeled those traits. Congrats to our winners!

Ms. Thompson's First Graders had fun in math graphing and adding with Lucky Charms Marshmallows!

The entire elementary school has been focusing on kindness for the month of February. The 5k-2nd graders have been working really hard to show kindness in the cafeteria and have had a chance to earn pink buffalo slips which get put in a drawing to sit at the fun tables in the back.
Congrats to the winners from the last two weeks! We appreciate the kindness that you have shown to others!

First Grade 100th Day Fun!

Midwest Dental was busy! We had a visit in first grade also!

Mrs. Kitchner's PM 4K class has sure enjoyed having Keira (a high school service learning student) join their class this trimester. Keira did a wonderful job assisting and playing with students, and helping Mrs. Kitchner with daily classroom needs. Thank you, Keira! You will be missed! ❤️🐝
